Best known for her powerful novel My Name Is Leon, Kit has spent years championing working-class voices in literature. 

Bookbanks founder Emily Rhodes will be chatting to Kit about how her childhood in Birmingham’s Irish and Caribbean communities shaped her journey to becoming a writer, and why she believes so strongly in the power of books. Kit will also share insights into her writing life, read a short extract from her memoir, Without Warning and Only Sometimes and answer your own questions in a live Q&A.
